While a majority of the protesters who attended tea parties across the nation convened to oppose to taxes, many conservatives viewed these gatherings as a platform to voice their other political grievances.

Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska) has entered another new realm of pop culture, becoming the focus of some crude lyrics in rapper Eminem’s latest single. The track, titled “We Made You,” is off Eminem’s latest solo album “Relapse,” scheduled for release on May 19. It includes references to a range of other celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, Ellen Degeneres, Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Simpson, and Jessica Alba.

In a story first reported by the superb Alaskan web site Mudflats , there has been a series of robocalls made in recent weeks regarding Alaska governor Sarah Palin in both Iowa and New Hampshire, two key primary sates in the 2012 Republican presidential campaign. (There have also been scattered calls reported in Southeast Alaska). According to the Mudflats, the calls went something like this: 1. Do you have a favorable opinion of Sarah Palin? 2. Governor Palin thinks A, B, C, D & E. Do you agree with Governor Palin? 3.

I’ve been sadly amused today watching the cable news bloviators discuss whether Caroline Kennedy is "qualified" to replace Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) in the U.S. Senate and, frankly, the whole debate shows how disconnected and self-absorbed the pretentious inside-the-Beltway crowd is about who they wish to admit into their society. So, allow me to be brutally honest about this Congressional qualifications stuff, for whatever my opinion is worth.

On Monday night, Levi Johnston went on the Joy Behar Show to talk about his new roll as a “gay icon.” Johnston seemed comfortable with the position, despite growing up in Wasilla, where he had “never seen a gay guy.”
Behar began the conversation asking Johnston if he “realizes” that he’s a gay icon.
“I do, yeah.” Johnston said.

John Kasich, who served nine terms in the House before becoming a Fox News host, is now testing whether the revolving door between politics and the media works in both directions. Coming soon to a hearing room near you: “Are you now or have you ever been a Socialist or member of the Socialist Party?” Sound familiar? “Socialist” has merely been substituted for “Communist”, but all of the same techniques are in play. I may be overstating her importance, but Sarah Palin frightens me. With her cutesy little homilies that spew venom and lies like “death panels” for the elderly, she appears to be acquiring a substantial following.
