Joe Biden On ‘The View’, His Appearance In 3 Minutes (VIDEO)
Posted April 22nd, 2010 by impalin
Vice President Joe Biden went on ABC’s “The View” today, marking the first time a sitting vice president or president has ever appeared on the program. Joe answered questions ranging from his infamous F-bomb , to Sarah Palin, to his dogged pursuit of wife Jill, making an ultimately favorable impression even on the most conservative of the show’s co-hosts, Elisabeth Hasselbeck. We’ve boiled down his full appearance into a convenient three-minute highlight reel: WATCH: Video produced by HuffPost’s Ben Craw More on Video
Palin ratings fail
Posted April 5th, 2010 by impalin
Ooops. It turns out that people just weren’t that interested in Sarah Palin’s big April Fools’ Day debut . As a refresher, last week Palin launched a new show called “Sarah Palin’s Real American Stories.” (Get it? Sarah Palin’s a real American!) The show, marketed as a one-night special with hints that it could return from time to time in the future, launched in the 10pm timeslot normally held by Greta Van Susteren.
Jeanne Devon ("AKMuckraker"): Behold the Latest GOP Offering for Lt. Governor of Alaska
Posted April 1st, 2010 by impalin
Below is Alaskan Eddie Burke’s official press release announcing his run for Lieutenant Governor in 2010. His early forced retirement from AM-radio has left him with time on his hands - time enough to seek the second-highest administrative position in the Last Frontier. Progressive talk show host Shannyn Moore and I talked with Eddie on the air on her show , right after he was …. retired, and urged him to run for Governor as a Tea Party candidate. This isn’t quite as exciting, but the debates with Rep. Jay Ramras (R) and Diane Benson (D) will be amusing to say the least.
Sharon L. Butler: A 2010 Whitney Biennial Biopsy
Posted March 17th, 2010 by impalin
In their opening remarks, the 2010 Whitney Biennial curators Francesco Bonami and Gary Carrion-Murayari confessed that they approached the selection process (gasp) open-mindedly, without a preconceived theme. Fortunately, the exhibition itself faithfully reflects their intent, presenting a resonant sampling of contemporary art practice. That is not to say that the show selection is thematically unfocused or ungrounded.
Michael Giltz: Who’s The King Of Late Nite? Craig Ferguson
Posted February 24th, 2010 by impalin
Last night (Tuesday/Wednesday from 12:30 am to 1:30 am), Craig Ferguson delivered another brilliant night of TV by simply doing away with the audience and talking for one hour to one guest. Of course, he loaded the deck by making that guest the endlessly witty, clever, insightful, thoughtful talk show-guest-of-your-dreams Stephen Fry. But still, it was an arresting, wonderful hour akin to the glory days of Dick Cavett when he would just spend a day or two or an entire week talking to someone that fascinated him (and therefore us).
Tallulah Morehead: Survivor: Heroes vs Villains: Hi Y’all.

Samoa’s war between the Likeables and the Insufferables continues. It may not have the international attention the games in sunny Vancouver are getting (where, if their weather gets any nicer, they’ll be skiing on dirt.), but at least in Samoa, the hot, athletic men are stripped down (though be warned: so are the un -athletic men), and the anorexic women are all in bikinis and buffs (as opposed, slightly, to being in the buff.), if that’s what you like. Boston Rob agrees with me; he’s on the wrong tribe.
‘Family Guy’ Actress Responds To Sarah Palin’s Criticism

Andrea Fay Friedman, the voice actress who played the role of “Ellen” –the character depicted as having Down syndrome on the Valentine’s Day episode of Family Guy , has responded to the criticism of sometime-Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Of special significance, Friedman herself has Down syndrome. Palingates has Friedman’s complete response : My name is Andrea Fay Friedman. I was born with Down syndrome. I played the role of Ellen on the “Extra Large Medium” episode of Family Guy that was broadcast on Valentine’s day.
Mark Blankenship: Big Love Wife Watch!: Season 4, Ep. 4
Posted February 1st, 2010 by impalin
Warning: Major Spoilers Ahead Welcome to Wife Watch!, the only blog post that ranks the most powerful wives on this week’s episode of Big Love. I mean it as a compliment when I say that watching Big Love always makes me feel kind of sick. Like, I get so tense every week with all the drama and the fighting and the secret loving that I wonder if I should take an aspirin. Of course, that’s what I tune in for, and the latest installment, “The Mighty and the Strong,” certainly keeps me in chest pain.
Dawn Teo: JD Hayworth Resigns: Tea Party Talk Show Host WILL Run Against McCain
Posted January 22nd, 2010 by impalin
PHOENIX, AZ — After months of speculation that popular talk show host and former Rep. JD Hayworth might challenge Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) for his senate seat, Hayworth took the first concrete step by resigning from his talk radio show Friday night.
Lloyd Garver: Sarah Palin: American Idol?
Posted January 15th, 2010 by impalin
The other day, Sarah Palin announced that she will be working for Fox News. She said one of the reasons that she is excited about working there is because it is a place “… that so values fair and balanced news.” As an opinion columnist, nobody expects me to be “fair and balanced,” but news shows were once. But she actually called today’s Fox News “fair and balanced?” Obviously, the people at Fox may represent the conservative, right wing viewpoint if they want just as MSNBC presents the left wing, liberal viewpoint.
