When the state legislature decided to introduce a law to force cities to pay for rape kits, the police chief of Wasilla was the bill’s most vocal opponent.
Amazingly, Mayor Palin did nothing to stop him. The police chief, who had been appointed by Sarah Palin, continued to have her backing.
Eric Croft (former State Representative): “I find it hard to believe that for six months in a small town, a police chief would lead a fight against a state-wide piece of legislation receiving unanimous support and the mayor not knowing about it.”
